To request a book by mail:

  1. Sign in to your library account
  2. Find the book in the Library catalogue.
  3. Click on the book's title to get to its record page.
  4. Click on "Get it from a Waterloo library". You will see a request form to fill out.
  5. Select 'Books by Mail' as your Pickup Location.
  6. Click Send Request to place your request.

For UW owned books:

You will receive one email asking for your home delivery address.  Please provide your address for each book requested.

For books request from other university libraries:

Once you have placed your Books by Mail request you will receive two email messages from the Library. The first email is automatically generated and will state "hold available". You will then need to wait for the second email from the Library that will ask you to enter your mailing address. If you have requested more than one book by mail, you will need to do this step for each book requested. To be able to receive your book(s) by mail it is essential that you follow the instructions given on the second email and enter your mailing address.

Prepaid return shipping labels will be provided for off-campus addresses.
