Cite an image downloaded from ARTstor in Chicago style as in the example here below:

Fig. 1. Rogier van der Weyden, Saint Catherine of Alexandria. 1430-1432, Diptych panel, 18.5 x 12 cm. Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, Austria. Available from: ARTstor, http://www.artstor.org (accessed October 17, 2015).

The title of the image, Saint Catherine of Alexandria, should be italicized. The access date is the date you download the image.

When you download an image from Artstor, you'll receive two files in a folder. The jpeg is your image. The html file contains all the information you'll need to properly cite the image including material, size, date, the creator, the source of the image (e.g. museum), etc.

Visit the Library's Citation/Styles Guide to learn how to cite different types of materials in different citation styles, such as APA, Chicago, Turabian, ACS, CSE, AMA, NLM and some others.
